OUR CLUB

DISA was started in 2006 with a small, coordinated training session for a group of U10 boys playing in two different local clubs. At the time there was no professional soccer training for children under the age of 11, requiring all games to be played within their respective club on teams often assembled by volunteer parent coaches. 

This model was outdated and did not take into consideration the speed at which younger children learn and develop new skills.  With that in mind, the new DISA academy introduced the most challenging training sessions possible while keeping it fun and exciting!  DISA entered the first team in the only tournaments available for U10 youth players and won each.  At the time, DISA only trained one day a week, validating the tremendous developmental milestones younger children can achieve with advanced coaching!  As a result the South Carolina Youth Soccer Association (SCYSA) developed the academy leagues for U8 and up we currently play within today.  

DISA is a small, elite club with a very successful history representing the Daniel Island community at the highest levels of competition for over 12 years.  DI residents represent approximately 95% of our club’s registration, now and since its inception.  We are very proud to serve our community and help create the relationships and friendships that will last lifetimes!
